I want to get away to a nice healthy retreat like place. I'm trying to get healthy and clean and can't do it alone, I thought about rehab but I don't want to be locked up or have to go to all those meetings. does anyone have any advice or know of a good retreat place to get away? Somewhere in nature where I can get my life together, and something that doesn't cost a fortune.

esalen is nice but dont know what you mean by a fortune. its not cheap but its not a fortune either
they have a long term program called work study, maybe thats what you need
also there is a buddhist org in berkeley, not exactly nature but you well you get to meditate and go to class in exchange for working in their printing press but it costs you nothing
dont know if berkeleys a good place to get clean though, probably not

Gatlinburg, Tennesee. its very peaceful and very relaxing. if you go in August, hotel and cabin rates go down.
