This is the greatest and best answer ever written....The band is called Tenacious D and they have a movie and an album coming out very soon, not to mention a UK tour which is largely sold out already.
Musically, the song 'Tribute' bears a resemblace to 'Stairway To Heaven' in it's chords (Am-G-F)

Well, his band is Tenacious D but they certainly can't claim to have sung 'the best song in the world'.... or even close.... they are largely a comedy band with lyrics that might amuse a 15 year old at best.....
