Both, I had a little rash on my face from the dirt where I used to work at so I wash my face with hot water (open pores) and then rinse with cold (close pores) it worked for me now my skin is smoother. If u do just hot, pores stay open and ur face will get more dirty, if u use just cold, u wont get ur face as clean
Good Luck...

Either hot or cold is not good according to so many skin care specialists. They say lukewarm water is the best to wash your face. Too hot or cold water can damage your skin which is very hard or impossible to recover once damaged/broken. But once in a while you can use steam towel (I usually wet a small face towel, and put in in a microwave for 20~30 secs.) to open up your pores to deep cleanse. This is the best way!

First with hot water and soap. This opens up the pores and cleans out the dirt and excessive bodily buildup. After rinse with hot water to clear away all the soap. Then rinse again with cold water to close the pore and keep it cleaner longer.

you must wash your face with lukewarm water. hot water is not good for the veins.
if you're not lazy, start with lukewarm water to open your pores. use your face wash. next rinse is cold water, not too cold like ice, that's bad. to close the pores. final rinse would be warm water, not so hot that will burn your skin. apply your moisturizer after.

Always lukewarm but as long as the water is not too hot or too cold it doesnt really matter

I guess the minor effect is that warm water opens up the pores but who really knows

Always wash with lukewarm water (hot water will make your skin produce oil faster) If you want to splash your face with cold water AFTER washing, it will help to shrink you're pores.
