Barbara Streisand and Steve Nicks... There voice and not be duplicated... No one else sounds like them or can try to sing like them..... you can here a new song on the radio and you would be able to identify them just by voice. Truly Diva.

Melissa Etheridge is my most admired female singer. There are many reasons for this. The first is that she sings with her heart and is not afraid to sing/say what is on her mind. Her music is very "raw". Second, she is an amazing singer. Third, she came out of the closet and faced much scrutiny for it. She had her girlfriends in videos and is very proud of being a homosexual. Third, inspite of having breast cancer she still continues to sing and has released a new album this year. Even with a bald head or very short hair she performs concerts.
I can't think of another female artist that has faced so many challenges and has continued to sing.

The female singer that I admire the most would be Gwen Stefani. She is so talented in everything she does and no matter how huge she gets she doesn't let it go to her head. She is just a beautiful person inside and out.

I gotta say Loretta Lynn. She really helped paved the way for female singers to be who they are today. Plus, she wrote some fantastic songs.

Cyndi Lauper... forget about all the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" stuff, she has done a lot of amazing work dsince then that hasn't gernered the attention it deserves. I love her because she's passionate about what she sings, writes incrdible music, and is immensely talented.
Also, Bjork rules... she does what she wants and says fu*k you to conventionality.
