He is Italian, but he calls me a kike, and I am jewesh. When we do it is all in fun. Neither one of us cares, is this still wrong?

I think its ok as long as no minds. I dont think anything you say should be censored. I though would not say **** infront my kids.

If both of you are happy with this arrangement then I do see no massive problem, but please be aware that some people from both of your communities could take this the wrong way if you where both calling one another thing like that in public.

It's kind of like some inside jokes. . . for the people who know whats going on it's fine, but anyone else can think it's rude or wrong and may get offended.

It is certainly between you and your friend. However, I would not call each other that in the presence of children or of other people who might not know that it is all in fun.
