Change doctors - repeatedly if necessary and find one that specializes in breast health.

Continuous long-term discharge from your nipples of ANY color is not necessarily healthy (though some doctors MAY say its normal).
You need to be assessed as soon as you can and find a doctor that is willing to do more than shrug his or her shoulders! At the very least tests of the seepage and perhaps a needle biopsy would be in order - anything less is complete inattentiveness!
YOU need to take responsibility for your health - if you feel that something isn't right YOU need to make sure it's fixed. YOU know your body better than ANY doctor on earth....listen to that inner voice!

(In the mean time, if you've got so much seepage that it's leaking everywhere, consider getting nursing pads and putting them inside your bra. Also consider getting "night bras" - they look like sports bras but are soft and pretty non-supportive, but will hold the pads in place while you sleep and/or have sex).

Oh my god, you DO NOT have to live with that. If your doc cant give you a decent answer, go and get a second opinion. Demand to have tests done to find out whats going on. Any strange discharge, altered shape, colours, lumps or anything like that is not normal, and should be taken seriously. Sorry, dont want to scare you, but if they was my puppies, there is no way I would have let that go on for 6 months, let alone 6 years. Please go and get medical advice. That is not normal and you dont have to live with it.

Of the benign conditions that cause suspicious nipple discharge, approximately half is due to papilloma (tumour) and the other half is a mixture of benign conditions such as fibrocystic conditions or duct ectasia (widening and hardening of the duct due to age or damage). Most opalescent discharge is due to duct ectasia or cyst.

Suspicious nipple discharge is due to a malignant (cancerous) lesion just ten percent (10%) of the time. Discharge caused by a malignant condition is almost always on one side only (unilateral). Discharge that is coming from both breasts (bilateral) is usually benign.

Nipple discharge may be a concern if it is:

. Bloody or watery (serous) with a red, pink, or brown color
. Sticky and clear in color or brown to black in color (opalescent)
. Appears spontaneously without squeezing the nipple
. Persistent
. On one side only (unilateral)
. A fluid other than breast milk

And please go see your doctor again!!! Never ever ignore a breast discharge. Yes, and change doctors if not satisfied or insist on referrel to a specialist! All the best.

There is something that can be done. I have an ex who had glands removed from the nipples in a small operation. She had it for years. I Couldn't tell as i'm colourblind, lol. But ask about this operation. I can't remember if it has a name for it though.

Green breast discharge is usually associated with fibrocystic disease. However, it can also be caused by mammary duct ectasia (duct inflammation). Since you have had continuous discharge for 6 years, you should probably get it treated. Surgery can remove the duct(s) causing the problem.

Go find yourself another OB/Gyn doctor who cares enough to resolve your problem.

it could be an infection in your milk ducts post children that has not been treated properly or possibly a sign of breast cancer ,
sounds asthough your doctor is incompetent and probably a man!
insist on seeing a specialist asap, if you are unhappy with your doctor contact your local health authority
good luck!

Definetly go to some other doctors, get more opinions. I have heard of something similiar, but I can't remember where or what exactly.

Good luck

blood tests all normal? hmmmm, I am wondering if they ran marker tests. I am also wondering if they cultured the discharge. Frankly, I'd see a specialist in oncology and in gynecology.
