Beware of men giving "gifts" for no reason.

No, he is not just being nice. He obviously wants to get into your goodie basket, and he's trying to come off as some sugar daddy type or something like that.

I say go to the mall, spend the $300 and don't even give it another thought.

This is a no brainer, he wants something. If you are sitting down right now then you are sitting on what he wants. He's trying to show off how much he has, and trying to make you feel like you owe him. And believe me, sooner or later he WILL remind you that you owe him.
For a guy like this the g/f has nothing to do with it. He doesn't want another g/f, he wants a conquest.

I agree with "the doctor" there's no such thing as a free lunch. He may be looking for something on the side. It is very rare for a man to give money for no reason unless is for charity or hitting the jackpot.

Money is a guys way of showing that he is interested. I don't think he wants to "date" you more like just "hook up".

Personally unless the guy is paying for dinner or a night out that we are both at. I never accept money - I think it makes you look cheap and it put him in the position of saying later "hey... I've given you $xxx and now I want my money's worth".

Unless he tells you upfront why he gave it to you, he has an agenda. The only question left is when and how he'll ask you to repay it. The g/f means nothing in this instance, but possibly an alibi to appear innocent, until it comes times to collect.

I don't think so. I have helped a lot of people out with monetary situations, (not that I'm an easy target) with no expectations. It's up to you to just be forward and ask.. is there more to this deal and if they lie their loss

Some guys don't have any morals. They want something from you even though they have a wife or girlfriend. If he didn't want to date you, it doesn't mean he isn't after something else...
