as long as you continue to have partnered sex, periodic or daily masturbation is ok. since we ALL have the gift of being able to pleasure ourself, why not use that gift to full capacity. nothing compares will oral and vaginal sex, but masturbation has its place in the life of just about EVERYONE. those who contend that they don't or have never masturbated are not telling the truth.
they're "jerking" the rest of the masturbating population around.
have fun!

Why shun away from sex??
But either way, I masterbate all the time and have no bad side affects unless you want to call staying hard for long periods of time a side affect. being able to have intercourse for an hour instead of minutes. Hummm
I say get out there and stroke your tool once a day.
On some days I may even do it 5 times if I'm not busy.

It is a victorian attitude that we must feel embarassed by our natural urges..there are no side affects, infact you can learn a lot about what you like and dislike...why do you shun away from sex?
Making love can be nice given that your partner is both loving ,patient and gentle..take it little steps.A bad experience can put you off for some time..i find this can relave period pain and general tension..hey..it ,s normal and what we were made for/.

Not if you don't overdo it. If you get dependent on it, you could suffer some desensitization and have trouble enjoying normal sex without the manual stimulation. There is also the "law of diminishing returns"...if you do it too much you enjoy it less over time.
You could also end up with a compulsory/obsessive fixation but that's pretty extreme, and usually only happens if you depend on pornography to help you get there.

If there were any side effects to masturbation, I'd have seen them by now. So I can safely say the answer is no.

The effects are really in the brain, if you carry on you'll be fixed. And depending when you start, it will affect your sex life in future.
But just on the occasion shouldn't do any harm.
