Paracetamol is one of the few medicines that actually is labelled that it is ok to take during pregnancy. I would just take it when the pain is unbearable and not constantly.

Paracetamol should be fine but get your tooth sorted. In the UK you get free dental care while pregnant.
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I've had a tooth abcess and took paracetamol for that. I've also had to take medication for severe sickness, antidepressants and a few other medications (all prescribed by my Doc) and my baby has had no ill effects, all the scans show him to be fighting fit and raring to go!!!.
I have a friend who had to take morphine throughout her pregnancy for a severe back injury and her baby was fine! So I doubt paracetamnol are going to do baby any harm!!
Just check with your GP if you're worried, I'm sure it will be fine. some women have to take much stronger medications while proegnant and their babies are OK. Its not always possible to "avoid all medication" in pregnancy and I wish baby books wouldn't say that because it causes unnecessary stress when you do have to take something!!!!

Paracetamol is fine when you're pregnant as long as you don't go over the recommended dose. I had to take it daily when I was for back pain altho I did try and only take it when I really needed it.
I now have a beautiful, healthy, two year old daughter who shows no ill effects!
Also I had to take a mixture of painkillers when I was breastfeeding, strong but safe ones, and she's still fine. Trust your doc on this one and if not, call your midwife and tell her your fears, that's what she's there for!
Good luck with everything! xxx

In the eighth month of pregnancy, the nerves should be in place, and the brain is just growing. So I think that it you take the Paracetamol strictly as directed, it will be okay. You might dissolve the Paracetamol directly on the tooth, so that the pain reliever doesn't have to travel around so far to get the job done.
It sounds as if you have done everything else properly, so if the doctor said you could take the Paracetamol, then I'd take his/her word for it.

Hi I'm 28 weeks pregnant now and suffer from migraines, you can take paracetomol for pain whilst pregnant even in the first 13 weeks just take care to only take the dose on the packet - i.e no more than eight in any 24 hours - I did however play safe and take no more than 6 in a day. Hope this helps, dont panic and good luck :-) - If your still in any doubt pop to the doctors and ask to speak to your nurse.

Paracetomol is the only thing thats okay to be taken throughout pregancy- i.e right up til birth.
They dont recommend Ibuprofen or co-codamol for some reason.
However, for really good pain relief you can use Neurofen upto 3 or 6mths (cant remmeber exactly but says on pack!) but not anytime after that.
Paracetomol has never worked for me before until it was the only thing i could take and it miraculously worked. My theory was that the odd bit of disallowed stuf during pregnancy is okay as long as its not loads.
I broke the rules a little and my son was born gorgeous and perfect.

I was told by my midwife and doctor that this is fine. I had sciatica all through so really relied on taking paracetamol. If it wasn't safe they would not advise you to take them. In my opinion, being stressed out over the pain is more damaging than relieving it!

do you not have a emergancy dentist that you could visit straight away normally if you call your dentist out of hours there should be a number for one, they are some times at your local hospital and will see you on the day you call so long as it is outside of normall dentist hours if you can not find the number try calling direct enquierys and asking them for your local emergancy dentist that way you wont have to take the chance with paracetamol and could have it sorted tonight this is what i did whilst i was pregnant and they were brilliant

You could always put Bongela on your tooth or chew cloves, this will help, but the paracetamol in the correct doses wont do you or the baby any harm. Good luck
