the tab or wire going to the window broke off and the defroster stopped working. I dont know if you are to glue it back, or weld it or sodder it back to the window. I bought a kit from the store but it only repairs the lines in the defroster. Please help me.

I have the same issue and have been told to try a number of fixes - none of which worked. The basic answer that my glass guy, mechanic and the dealership confirmed was that once this happens, you have to replace the windshield. There is no glue that will work to reattach it because it needs to be able to conduct electricity to make your defroster work.

The only way to fix this is to solder it or replace it with an after market defroster unit availble at a auto parts store, speed shop. Dave

There is an electrical conductive adhesive that is available for that. You might check your local auto glass shop. It is a different adhesive than the one for repairing defrost lines.

If possible peal back coating on wires on both ends, twist the two ends together and tape with electrical tape. This should work.
