No one should ever be blamed for the sins of their forefathers. Judge a man for what he is and does now. If you hold a grudge for sins that were not committed by the man in question and for sins that were not committed unto you, then you perpetuated a hatred, the likes of which have begot wars and acts of unspeakable atrocities....and YOU, not this "son of the men" you speak of, would be the catalyst.

ok, i feel I can answer this honestly: I am not white, I am Irish and cherokee, but I can say this: i look it. ok, to blame other for the Africans being enslaved, is not right. They sold their own ppl into slavery. that is a fact that 99.9% of all blacks dont want to think about. Because if they do,it will mean they have no one to blame. and they dont want that! That would be like me saying that all black men are rapists, all black women are prostitutes, and all black children will never be anything decent, and they will never amount to anything. It is the same thing. And i know alot of African/Americans that are good, upstanding, decent ppl!!! you shouldnt profile ppl like that. Black men don't go out raping women, black women aren't prostitutes, and black children can grow up and be someone decent. You should not categorize whites because of something their forefathers have done. Africans were sold, yes, but BY THEIR OWN PPL!

First - most of the southern farmers (and I am not one of them) are not rich even though a few are. Second - you are not talking about the sons but rather the sons many times removed. With some exceptions (Mel Gibson being one) a great-great grandfather's attitude is not reflected in today's society. And lastly - having a chip on your shoulder or expecting reparations from over 100 years ago or refusing to deal with co-workers, neighbors or possible friends who are white only makes yesterday's problems continue today.

#1 God tells us to forgive others or He will not forgive us.
#2 You can't hold people accountable for what their forefathers did. If they are decent genuine people, then treat them as such. If you come to find out that they are not, then deal with them on an individual basis, not because of what their ancestors did.
God called us to love our enemies, meaning: show them the same respect that you would show any human being and extend the same amount of grace to others that He has given to you inspite of your many sins against Him.
God never said we had to "like" everybody, but my best advise to you is concentrate on the future, and make sure that you are leaving a legacy of love and not hate for your future generations.
Peace.

Because you were never a slave and the people alive today never owned slaves. Slavery was abolished some hundred and forty years ago. Plus if you are impolite to someone who you suspect as being the decendant of a slave owner you are no better that the grand wizard of the ku klux klan.

Are you referring to the rich Africans of the early 1500's through the 1800's who caught and sold their neighboring tribes in order to steal tribal lands? Don't believe racist hype, go to school and learn about history. By the way, slavery is alive and well in Africa to this day.

You can't go around blaming sons, grandsons, etc. for the things that their father's, grandfather's did. Sounds more like a racial blurs, rather than a question that should be posed on y!a.

you can't go around blaming the whites for your own stupidity and lack of education. Get real and understand that we present day whites have nothing to do with your fore fathers being enslaved. That's just crazy. Look elsewhere to put the blame.
