It's that time of the season, don't leave anything out (put in containers, fridge etc.) I had them really bad last year. I put apple vinegar in plastic containers and set them out where the fruit flies were the worst. They like the sweet smell and then they get stuck. It's pretty gross when they are all in there but I just dumped the vinegar out once and then the second time just threw the containers away. It worked really well. If you have small children or pets be careful where you put the stuff! Good Luck, I hope I was some help to you ; )

Keep them in the fridge; or eat the fruit within a few days. Fruit flies take about 4-5 days to hatch (yes, they're already in the fruit).

3 answers - all the same - must mean something..... keep your fruit in the fridge :0) and use fake ones in the fruit bowl. In Barbados we keep everything in the fridge, salt, perfume, nail polish and so on.......

pour a small amount of wine or fruit juice in a glass, cover with plastic/saran wrap, and poke small hole in center...the fruit flies go in and drown...end of problem.

(note: don't drink the juice/wine afterwards)
