The first movie was released on August 21, 2004 between episondes 97 and 98. The second was released August 6, 2005 between 145 and 146.

The movies don't actually take place during that time though, They jump around.

True, though the first and second movie had alot of conflict going on between. The second movie, Naruto still can't get over that Sasuke went to the dark side. I heard that the third movie (which already came out, I think) wasn't supposed to cover Sasuke leaving and stuff.
