A symphony is an orchestral work, usually played in four movements. As a general rule, the first movement is up-tempo, the second is slow, the third is usually moderately fast, and the final movement is often fast. There are exceptions to this information; for example, occasionally the tempos, or speeds of these movements might not conform to the tempos shown above. Also, a symphony may have five movements, instead of four. However the information at the beginning is usually the case.
