at some points, philosophers deals with truth questions & of goodness. consolation for life’s sorrows & sometimes they are purely pragmatic. In philosophy of science, a theory may be valued only for its predictive capability; its truth or falsity may be immaterial. In ethics, philosophy may have a prescriptive function, offering a preferred set of values ; but where those values originate from is a debatable question. both have connection to each other. in life features, philosophy provides most of d framework & psychology provides much of d content. also, psychology works with need & philosophy works with truth.

Psychology is developed from philosophy. The problems of human soul and human behavior were previously the issue of philosophy from the Ancient Greece (Plato, Aristotle), through the medieval and renaissance (Thomas Aquinas, Descartes, Hume, Locke) to the end of 19th century, beginning of 20th (Husserl), when a psychology as a science finally differentiated from philosophy and getting closer with biology, medicine and exact sciences, using more and more experimental and quantitative methods...
The real revolution in psychology was introduced by Sigmund Freud, who started to apply until that time one vanguard method of free associations and analyzing human unconsciousness - which was a scandal for the professional and cultural mainstream of his time. In a way, we can say that he connected his medical education with philosophical one (he was a student philosophy of a famous professor Brentano)...
Although diverging in its methods philosophy and psychology are still very complementary.
According to James Gibson Hume, "They deal with the warp and woof of the same undivided concrete human experience. Psychology turns special attention to the content and its analysis, philosophy to the organization or synthesis of this same content. Hence, psychology without philosophy is blind, philosophy without psychology is empty." http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Hume/affiliation.htm

Psychology is the study of the human mind and character. Philosophy is the study of knowledge, of existence, of life itself. Philo means love, and sophy means knowledge (love for knowledge). Philosophy was the first "science", everything derived from there. The first question man made himself was "what am I, why I am here, what is the purpose of my existence". By beginning questioning himself about himself, man was able to develop other sciences, like mathematics, astronomy, and architecture. Phsychology takes a lot from philosophy, although is, of course, a completely independent science.
