heealll yeah. why do you think we prepared for nuclear attack in the 50s? j/k people should know the USA is in its fall, China is in its rise, and Europe and Japan are in recession. That is hwy we are at war. You don't want to trade your life with an Iraqi or Chinese guy do you? I think not.

I one day the human race will disappear from this universe but not in the way everyone is thinking. We could be wiped out by viruses, climate change, alien invasion, and even by creatures we created in a lab. Or our race will evolve into another and the remaining humans may live side by side with the other race or will try to wipe each other out. Evolution and nature are harsh mistresses and so ar many other factors that are included in this universe to predict anything of this magnatuide is pretty impossible but these are the best guesses I can offer you. and just in case you think we are the number one cause of extinction just rember that 90% of all creatures that lived on earth are extincted. we didn't kill them all. soory had to throw in some george carlin there

Population dynamics would suggest that when it got to the point where the planet was overpopulated with people, many would die off as a result and the population would drop to a more managable lesson again (ever seen the computer simulations which simulate the population sizes of predators, prey and plants).

Of course, by the time this had happened, we may have wiped out several species, but cest la vie.

Oh, and no we're not next, were you ACTUALLY serious when you said that? I would have said the black rhino or the variegated spider monkey was next, personally.

Human population is growing so quickly that there's no way we ever could be extinct, unless the earth blew up. I think there should be a ban (like in China) that is one child per family, 2 if you are rich and can afford them. Maybe the population would ebb some then.

First, we have to have a faith in humanity. Self destruction would defy our inner most instict, that is to survive. Even though we commited inhumanely crime to so many people, we tried our best to prevent that to happen again. The reason we fail, the very reason we falter is because we are not perfect. Probably our race is still in infant stage in terms of a truly civilized society, we're still learning how to walk to fully appreciate how beautiful the universe is. I believe, because of our persistance to live we're going to persevere for a long long time.

it depends on what the earth throws at us.......Yellowstone national park is a volcano an it is over due for an eruption if it blows and sends up enough dust into the atmosphere we could be with out sunlight for years so no food will grow, no animals will have food either , or of course there could be an asteroid strike having the same effect. or just a deadly disease.
gloomy isn't it.

No, we are not next. But from the gist of whatever else is saying, I agree, when we go, we'll probably take a whole lot of other species with us, and it will likely be self inflicted somehow.

Sure, we are on the list, only we are doing it to ourselves... Maybe we deserve to be extinct, maybe not... In any case, it is a long way off, so relax and concentrate on something important, like why is good beer so expensive ???
