I so wish I was less focused on the "little things".... the things that don't really matter in the long run, but that consistently end up being the thorns that prick me. Perhaps that little devil on my shoulder that whispers negativity in my ear. He makes me forget the important things in life....the main goals... the greater issues. He side tracks me instead. He throws such petty nonsense in the way to distract me. And then, I lose total sight of that which matters..... and I go of course and follow these "little things" to nowhere...to a dead end. *sigh* I would love for these "little things" to go away...for the devil on my shoulder to take a nap... even for a day. Better yet, I wish I could focus less on what he is whispering...on where he is leading me. If only I could pay more attention to the beautiful rose and less attention on the thorns that poke my palms. That would be wonderful.

It would be in the area of comparing my self to others and always coming up short.
Just this morning I was thinking "Why can't I do things like other people and get their terrific results?" "What is wrong with me that I just can't seem to be satisfied no matter how I do at a project at work, it didn't come out as good as so-and-so's!"
I'm pretty sure that I have sufficient qualities and can turn out some outstanding work but there is always this dissatisfaction when I look at what someone else has done and compare it to what I have done.

I'd be less focused on working full time (I'm a single mother / work outside the home and was divorced when kids were 1 yr old and 2 yrs old) and put more emphasis in being around for my kids, especially now that they are teenagers.

I would say be less focused on living. My forefathers meditated in a way that if you were trying, or focusing, you were not living, or being. This is because you had driven by your own force in a direction that was created by you (superficial personality), and not your energic connection. We are masters by inheritance genetically. What we master is determinate upon whom our forefathers happen to be. Light or Darkness.

I'd be less focused on myself. I'm terribly self-indulgent when it comes to thinking about all the things that make me unhappy.
