in the long run they are destructive to your body. they wreak havoc on your heart, circulatory system, brain and liver.
they are bad, bad, bad.
they are highly addictive.
the BEST option is to forget about pills and start a program of a healthy diet and exercise.
cut out the sweets. cut out the in-between meal snacks. cut out the fast foods. a good diet is one that is recommended by the American Heart Association or a diet for diabetics.
I have type two diabetes. before being diagnosed, my eating habits were atrocious. i could polish off a BOX of little debbies in one sitting. i bought candy bars by the twos. i lived on fast food.
after diagnoses, i realized that i'd better smarten up or i'd die. so i adopted a diet for diabetics. at first it was hard, but i stuck with it. so far i've lost about 25 pounds in a year. its slow--but its worth it. i don't remember the last little debbie or full size candy bar i ate.
the other nite i bummed a fun-size crackle bar from my wife. it was TOO sweet! after i ate it i thought--holy cow, that sucked! and i could used to polish off 5 or 6 of the fun-size candy bars in a setting.
take it off slow--follow a sensible diet and exercise. the weight will come off and you'll be much happier and healthier than if you'd tried to take it off with diet pills!

Well by the way you phrased the question.....a pill that "ACTUALLY WORKS", and isn't going to be "TOO PRICY".....that probably won't be something you find very easy. No matter if a pill kinda works....you are paying the price of possible damaging your health.
You should not be taking diet pills, unless you NEEEEEEED them.....and if you do "NEED" them, you should go to your doctor. Your doctor will be able to access your health, give you options, and he/she see's fit they will write you a prescription for something that may help...or recommend something other than diet pills. Obviously your doctor doesn't want you to be unhealthy and overweight, but I am sure they don't want to you to be loosing weight in at the price of other things or in an unhealthy way.....so they will tell you WHATS BEST FOR YOU.
There are other options:
-Exercise
-Watch your portions
- Go to the gym and join a weightloss program
- Your local hospital might provide a weightloss class/program
-GO SEE A NUTRITIONIST
-Do weight watchers (if you need some sort of accountability or motivation)
For heavens sake.....there is no magic pill that can replace what humans already get from treating their bodies properly. If financial reasons keep you from joining a gym or doing a program....save the money you will spend of the pills and join....go to a YMCA/YWCA....talk to someone at the gym about your situation. There are other options....
Im not trying to be harsh or mean, and i don't know your sitiuation. But if you have big enough weight problem that you think you need to buy diet pills....then spend the money on something more long tern, healthy and effective....However if you are buying the pills cause you want to loose a quick 5 lbs....exercise and eat right...you will feel happier and healthier if you exercise and get the right nutrients.
I am sorry if i sound insensitive or mean....this is "my soapbox", and I feel that they can't be too good for you, or doctors would be handing them out right and left, or even recommending them. HoweverI have not see any doctor recommend it except for the ones who have had 2 years of medical school (probably dropped out), and were getting paid to endorse the pills on commercials....
If you are dead set on taking the pills atleast check out the FDA website if you need further advice, and see if there are any on there that have been approved.
I wish you the best of luck, and good wishes for health and happiness.

Diet piulls do not work. What works is a sensible diet and excersize. Basically what what you eat. Not the quantity but the fat content. Also watch your liquid intake. If you drink beer and other high calorie drinks then obviously anything you eat will pile on the calories and if you do no excersize, you will put on weight. Simply put, it is a case of more calories consumer than used up = fat. Consume less calories and use them up by excersizing and you will lose weight but it won't be fast. It takes as long to lose the weight as it took you to put on. Change the way you eat and drink and excersize and you will stay slim, swallowing daft pills will only make your bank balance lighter but I suppose that when the advert's say "take these and lose pounds" they are telling the truth, but they mean £££ and not lbs.

Just eat a proper diet, don't go near these pills, they are dodgy...Try weightwatchers, in 7 months I lost three ans a half stone. Do plenty of exercise, aerobics for instance, or walking, cycling and swimming is also good...There are no miracle slimming drugs you still have to work at it, it's a big con.

I have used dozens of different kind of diet pills and dont like the way they make me feel. Do you think something that speeds your heart race up and makes you not hungry is good for your body. You might as well become a crystal meth addict it is doing harm to your body the same.

Bio slimmers, they worked wonders for me. They were 20 - 30 quid a year ago for 90 pills, which lasted a while.
YOu do drop off the weight, I was recommended by a friend who'd lost 3 stone with them.
Only thing is with them you need to drink plently of water as they really soak up your supply.

Non of them work, only hard work and cutting down on your calorie intake will have any effect. You really need to do plenty of exercise, both aerobic and anaerobic. Just get yourself down to the gym and work at it. Good luck
