I have never corrected them, but after watching Super Nanny, I have told them their behavior is unacceptable. Oh, I am the only grandma now, and do it all for them, support, babysitting, movies. I know, I must be nuts to keep doing this....

Hasn't anyone told you that no one can take advantage of you unless you let them? Since it has been going on for so long you will have to work harder to get your point across, but do it in a gentle and loving manner, and be consistent, don't let it go some of the time because you're too tired or its too much work. Be firm and stick to your guns.

Kick out the 22 year old and count down the days till the 17 year old turns 18 so she can go too. Super Nanny is a great program, but these girls are a little old to use the techniques showcased. They need to show you a certain amount of respect, regardless of what you do or don't do for them. You either need to have a family meeting, or cut them off.

Do you have custody of them?

If not, then don't have them over to your house until they straighten up their acts.

If you do, well, the 22 year old is old enough to get a job and get her butt into her own place. If she can't respect you under your roof then she needs to get her own so she can appreciate just how much you do for her.
The 17 year old, if she's still in school, should have priveleges taken away from her as best you can and show her through example with the 22 year old that you're not going to put up with any of their ****.

First of all, talk to your child about the behavior of their children. Let them know that a problem exists if you haven't already.

Secondly, tough love is sometimes the best love. Tell the 22 that its high time she learned to fend for herself if she cannot be respectful--and stick to it. Give her a set date that she has to be out of your house or behaving better. If she doesn't modify her behavior, kick her ON THAT DAY. Stick to every rule that you set. If she refuses to leave, enlist the help of the local police to get her out. Once she is out in the real world trying to survive she will start realizing all the many things that you did for her and grow ever more appreciative.

Let the 17 year old know that she is living on borrowed time. She either straightens up by 18 or she's going to have a very different type of birthday present that morning when you wake her up and tell her to pack her bags. You are probably going to have to end up kicking out her sister (because they aren't going to believe you mean business) to get your point across that you ARE serious about this. Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

Demand respect

They are totally disrespectful. Speak to their mother and be firm with them. They've got away with it too long. They are adults now and should behave like it.

Kick them out--plain and simple. Tell them if they cannot treat you like a person...you don't need them in your life.
