You can ask her to pay to have the damaged area resodded. Write her a letter so that you had proof that you did write her. Also take photos of the damaged area..If she doesn't want to, suggest to her that you might just have to take her to small claims court for the costs of having to do it yourself. Sounds like she's a pretty crappy neighbour... she could have at least asked you to take care of the problem before she went crazy with the grass killer.

why would you even want recourse??? be thankful that you've got a neighbor concerned enough to de-weed your yard. Go out and buy some grass and before a good rain sprinkle the grass around and it will grow and fill in. Be sure and buy the right kind of grass for your yard's particular situation.

If you like to have weeds in your lawn well that's your business it is part of your home and you are paying for it. She had no right to destroy privet property, that is against the law. Did you make a police report, did you take pictures of the damage. You also said she admitted it to you I just hope you record her confessing to it. It is very sad when neighbors don't get along especially because they are right next door to you. I wish you all the best, good luck!!

I am experiencing the same thing. I take good care of my lawn. The neighbor had large weeds growing along the fence line. I paid to have one of the (mulberry) tress removed since in was growing in the power line. He decides to use a type of vegetation killer and pour it along the fence. Instead of cutting and painting the trees or using a product that does not kill grass. As of this writing approximately 1 ft of my grass is dead and it continues to spread.! I don t agree with the "eye" for an "eye" theory...that just makes a lot of "blind" people. I do believe that they should take responsibility for their actions. Last year he "over sprayed " the front and killed my grass. This year I saw him with a gallon jug and a brown liquid pouring it along the fence line. I said "I hope you don t kill my grass like you did in the front!" He said "This vegetable fertilizer" what a liar!!

Yes, but if she does not admit it to the court and you have no wintesses it is a matter of your word versus hers. It ia a simple mater in small claims court. She has no right to damage or destory anything on your side of the fence. In fact you could push the police to file Criminal Damage to property against her and she could sit in a nice county lock up for a while until she decided to pay the damages.

get a gallon-can of gasoline and enter her yard at about 3am.
With spout attached, carefully pour the gasoline like it is a pen, and write the words B*TCH WH*RE in large size...in a few days, she will have a wonderful message to get an understanding of what she did to your lawn, and you will be able to watch with enjoyment at her displeasure. Eye for an eye.

Do Not make threats of lawsuit. First try to work it out. since she admitted it she should have no problem sharing the cost of repair if she refuses to repair the damage then you have to ask yourself is it worth your time to go to court or can you fix it yourself save the receipts and if she does it a second time you have a stronger case

My neighbor continues to spray grass poison on 1 foot on my side of the fence. I am worried my dog will walk through it an get poisoned. I've taken pictures of the years before. I've asked him politely. I've called the county Agriculture dept. and they are going to start an investigation. Now I'm worried that he will retaliate and give my dog rat poison.
