Convenient - absolutely. Better - is a matter of opinion.

Globally it makes life much more convenient and allow people to live at ease and in the comfort to good things. BUT as good things appear bad things also appear and they are more appealing to juniors and perverts So Sex became a wide business backed with technology on the NET, Drugs also Gangs and Terror became a Technology prone luxiouries of life. Now Tech makes life more expensives since all what you get is Tech prone and more expensive. Your children learn the bad habits and exercise them much easier and quicker than before. This does put a bigger burden on our heads since tech is very much needed and should always be our life motto, but also an educational process must be in place to push back people from tech prone bad things and make them use tech more constructively than now. This is a Gov duty that must be put into action immediately.

Modern technology certainly makes life more convenient -- with appliances to drive us around, wash and dry our clothes, even protect our homes and act as a tireless horse and buggy tha never need hitching or hay.
Life was shorter and more prone to sudden fatal infectious disease when technology had not developed to this level. Families were stronger, but that's because they were in a straitjacket of legal, religious and communities moieties.
In 1971, only 2% of college-educated adults remained single throughout their lifetimes. Today, 9% never get married. And we have had an explosion in medical technology and in labor-saving devices. There's more freedom and less drudgery now, though we find a lot to complain about!

I think that that is a toss up! Modern technology made it possible for us to get to point B from A much quicker....hmmmm, that stinks if your getting paid by the hour! In all seriousness, the war in Iraq is over modern technology (i.e. transportation), modern technology has bought us nuclear weapons, pollution, over population and communication over load.
On the positive side, we can travel quickly, we can go to the doctor for medication, we do have air conditioning, electric stoves, refrigerators, grocery stores and we can communicate quickly and easily over great distances.
There is a price for everything, and I would be a liar if I said I could live without my air conditioning!
I just don't know how to answer this one easily!
Good Luck

Sometimes, modern technology seems to make life more complicated. However over all, modern tech makes life much more convenient. A classic example of this is the microwave and this computer.

Every age has had its own technological advances/conveniences. Both the wheel and the airplane save time and labor. I'm sure our ancestors thought the wheel was both the bane and the savior of their existence. And I think we feel the same way about our computers, microwaves, satellite tv's, etc. We praise them and curse them all in the same breath. That's how it is with technology, and will always be.

Definitley more convienient. I mean think about it. In the morning I do not need to chop wood to get the fire going, or bring water in from the well, I don't need to worry about dying of simple diseases that can be cured or fixed with a shot. It takes us only 4 days to drive across the country, and 8 hours to fly. Thanks to technology, we have endless possibilities to communicate and understand one another. It is definitley more convienient and I believe better. Sure it would be interesting to scrape around and do manual labor, but really, I like my indoor plumbing, packaged food, and a warm house.

Technology is great to make our life easier and simpler (and longer)but is making us lazier and with less fantasy.
Ex. we take the car even if we have to go next block; we don't use brain and tricks to make simple operations, without cell phones you don't even get out, the language is poorer because of :) @ :( or whichever, and the list is very long.
What about using the technology to recicle, to make the quality of life better, to improve the lives of disables and old people etc. and making these issues everyone's priority?

depends how you look at it really medical wise its a massive improvement ailments can be spotted by a flick of a switch.
but on a darker said it can be very very destructive but as the saying goes power comes with great responsibility, and it should be treated with great care and respect.
as a race i dont think we have reached a maturity to have the tech we do now.

Technology facilitates some processes and also opens up unexpected doors. So life becomes and doesn't become more convenient.

If you don't know what you're missing, then you don't feel deprived.
An example is that 100 years from now, people won't believe how we, in 2006, put up with such nuisances like the flu and they won't belive that we had to pour gasoline into our cars and even go to war to protect fossil fuel resources. They won't believe that when we were away from someone that we couldn't summon them holographically and be with them and speak to them as if they're there. We don't have many htings, but we adjust to out environment and we can be happy if we tap into our innerselves rather than base our happiness on what "things" we have.
