Without paying the fee... I am thinking there may be some angle because they are not providing service in my primary location.

Sweetie-You are only one in the pool of thousands that is trapped in a contract. I am so sorry to tell you that you can't get out of the contract other than their specified way. There is usually a fee involved. T-Mobile lied to me about my plan when I got it. They told me I could call outside Texas under my plan.

One $500 bill later I found out they lied to me and would not terminate my contract without a fee. I am now at the end of the two years and will ONLY get a cell phone from a "month to month" company. I am going to try Metro PCS next.

There may be a way to have someone else take over your contract. Otherwise, the fee for early termination is something like $175.

Call Verizons customer service. They will be able to tell you. Maybe they can simply switch you to a better program.
