rather than going to all the hassle of trying to get the file size of your video smaller than your allowed email attachment size, just upload the video to a site like one of these:
http://www.yousendit.com
http://www.rapidshare.de

then email the link you are given to grandma and she will be able to download it from the site and view it on her computer without any loss of video/sound quality.

if you choose to use rapidshare, you also have the option of deleting the file from the website after it's been downloaded.

Most email systems have a limit on how much data you can send within one attatchment. Usually videos are too big for these restrictions. The best way to do it is if you get the file, usually ends in .mpg or .avi and send it using a messenger service like Yahoo Messenger, or MSN messenger. If you are both using decent speed connections then it should be alright. If that does not seem to work for you, why not transfer the videos onto a CD and send them via the post? Then granny can open the cd up in any computer and view back the grandchildren taking over the world in Texas.

maximum e mail structures have a cut back on how plenty records you could deliver interior of one attatchment. many times movies are too huge for those regulations. the terrific thank you to try this's that in case you get the report, many times leads to .mpg or .avi and deliver it making use of a messenger provider like Yahoo Messenger, or MSN messenger. while you're the two making use of first rate velocity connections then that is going to likely be ok. If that doesn't look to paintings for you, why not circulate the movies onto a CD and deliver them by way of the post? Then granny can open the cd up in any pc and look at back the grandchildren taking on the international in Texas.

When you use Windows XP, there is a program called "Windows Movie Maker". With this program you can 1) import the movie file; 2) edit it; 3) export it for e-mail. The result will be a compressed MPEG video, with only a couple of Mb.

When you don't have this program, you can find any program to convert movie files to MPEG.

If you have windows XP, you can right click the file and select Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder. This will compress the file and put it in the same folder the file is in, with an extension of .zip. If you don't have XP, then you can compress the file using winzip, or something like that.
