here here!!
I want it expunged from the English language, back in the day we were taught to hold our heads up high. What ever happened to getting ahead, it seems as though we have become comfortable with the table scraps!!

I agree but many other people will not. The reason being is because they feel that they are using the word derrogatorily so no one should be offended by the use of the word. I just believe that our ancestors died so that we could no longer use the word, Rosa Parks went to jail to eliminate the use of the word so why can't we stop using it. The other way to address each other is just to say hello.

If you are new to this forum be advised that there are many white rabble rousers that are pretending to be black. They are deliberately trying to stir up trouble.
Its a damn shame that after all of the experiences that we've been thru in this country that we still are fighting the same battles with the low class white trash element. Low self esteem and needing to feel better than someone else.
The only way to cope with them is to have a profound knowledge of self and about the majority in this country and of course to report them as being offensive. Black or white they deserve this.!
I don t know why anybody white would want the world to see the ugly white American - since this website is used by people from all over the world. Most of the time 99percent its somebody white pretending to be black.

The problem is that you think this word is still used as a term to describe black people when in fact, today it is more commonly used as its original dictionary meaning was intended: to describe any person (regardless of race) who is ignorant, stupid, or dumb.
It is time for us to wake up and realize that words are just words. It isn't 1860 and it isn't 1960. It is 2006 and nobody is enslaving anyone. Go for yours and stop making excuses to hold yourself and your community back! Can I get an AMEN?

Yes and no. we use it to show that it dosent bother us anymore and that you cant hold us down by saying it. we are stronger now. It's like someone made fun of my friends and called them baby bop and barney so my friends flipped it and made a joke out of it they got gold chains, tee shirts air brushed and hats that read barney and baby bop. And came around the people who was talking about them and the people were looking stupid in the face. But some usually say i love african americans but i hate ni99a's some people believe there is a difference.

I agree with you and I am white also.
I would really like to know why it's OK for you guys to call each other that name, but when white people do it it's racist.

Not all African Americans use that word..
Good try..but No, we are always going to use that word. I don't know why, exactly. I don't socialize using that word - its not in my character to do so. When I was a kid, my aunt use to like to playfully call me and my brother "reggins" which is that word spelled backwards.

i do agree, yet i still use the word on occasion. i use it only with people i am very close to and who will not take offense to it. it's almost like calling your child a name like stinky or pooter. it's not a nice name but they know you love them...
