Firefox is an open-source, free web browser that you can download from the web and use in place of, say, Internet Explorer and Netscape.
The main appeal of Firefox rests in its fully customizable ability. It's different because of all its extra features; some are built-in, and some come separately ('extensions' - add-ons, 'themes' - different looks, etc.). For instance, on my browser, Firefox has a built-in option to 'Clear Private Data', or erase all personal information like passwords, visited sites, or cookies. I also have installed a user-made extension that shows me the current weather at my location in the status bar. This sort of thing makes Firefox a very user-specific and -friendly browser.

Mozilla Firefox has a lot of great features. The main one being GREATER security than IE. It has phising protection and allows you to work with tabs instead of having multiple Browsers open.
Bottom line try downloading. Worst thing is if you dont like it delete it.

sorry personally i don't like it i got it the other day and it sux a$$ every time im in the middle of doing something the stupid thing closes down for no reason what so ever. oh yea and it sux somemore cuz everytime i go to a page that has shockwave on it it preforms an illeagl opperation and shockwave won't work then it shuts down. so personally ithink itsux major a$$ i mean if some1 would like to email me and tell me whats wrong with it and expain some thing to me then i might be able to change my mind butuntill the experiance gets beter i say it is a piece of trash

its a browser, like internet explorer
some people like it better than internet explorer
there is a Lynux version
some people think it is less susceptable to viral attack
there is nothing that special about it (I use it because I like the "tabs" options and a few other features)
