If you want to work for home and actually get paid check this out!! Take free online surveys, no sign up or start up costs, checks wrote monthly or Paypal direct deposit and sites actually pay, easy and quick to signup and get started, join multiple sites and answer questions about products, set up a separate email account to use just for surveys because you will be spammed by some companies. Refer your friends and family for extra money. These sites are the best 2 I have found after trying dozens!!!!!!!

Look into telecommuting jobs which are very hard to come by but do exist.

Freelance writing is also something that can be done if you have strong writing skills. You can write anything from term papers top product reviews. Check sites like Craigslist for writing gigs.

Ebay is also a great business for people who have the time and energy it takes to be successful at it. Also try the less popular yahoo auctions. You can sell things on Amazon as well or open up your own online store through Yahoo.

You can offer services, find ideas for home based businesses at sites like http://www.entreprenuer.com and http://www.powerhomebiz.com

If you can dedicate a phone line and remove background noise then at home call center representative is another option there are legitimate companies that I know of who hire people for these types of jobs.

Mystery shopping is a also a good option, you can pick and choose which assignments you will take and work it around your day but never pay to mystery shop, there are hundreds of legitimate mystery shopping companies with jobs all over the country, Canada and the UK. It's good in terms of flexibility and freedom, good writing and observation skills are a must.

Good luck

If you want to get "rich quick overnight" please ignore my answer, I make extra money by putting in the time and effort..
(1) I make a little extra money by doing simple things like surveys, "reading emails", etc. I spend about an 1/2 hour a night doing this. I prefer "reading emails" because it takes less time, I just visit a link that is provided and wait for a timer to expire and move onto another link.
(2) I sell items on a auction site. Most of my items comes from yards sales, flea markets, discount bins at local stores, etc. I sell larger items locally, less shipping charges etc. Most customers will gladly pick up the items. Sometimes I buy items from the local site just to sell on other auction sites. Also
(3) Real money can be made by having your own website / blog. It takes a little time and effort but if correctly done correctly, you can make extra money even when you are off the computer. That is the best thing about the Internet, it is open 24/7 and available worldwide
Hopefully you find my suggestions helpful and more important profitable! For more detailed information, check out the link below!

This is for people that are serious and who don’t want to be misled as we have tried many things and have found a company that has been around for 21 Years and pays you to advertise for them. My wife and I just started and are doing well. It is not an MLM company and no selling, no deliveries or stocking product. My wife’s aunt has been working with this Company (Melaleuca) for a little over 3 years and home schools 3 kids and makes $9,000 a month. It is a 500 Inc company and the CEO is on the U.S. Chamber of commerce board. I can arrange a web cast with my wife’s aunt for you and you can decide by yourself and WE WILL help you be successful. It is an honest Win Win.
If you want to see a web cast (presentation) from your home let me know and I will arrange it as that truly is the way to see all about Melaleuca. Have you heard of it. We have just gotten started with my wife's aunts help as it is a team effort and it is fun. Just a quick F.Y.I. 8 out of 10 people that see the web cast join the company and 95% of the people that join re-order product each and every month. Let me know when you are ready and we will set up the web cast.
e-mail: cleanandsafehome@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Rich & Teresa

One of the best solutions for that would be to start your own. You can do several things that will allow you to earn from home. They will take some time but can be very rewarding.

To learn more you can sign up for free newsletters and ezines on various subjects that interest you.

Here are a couple of ideas. Content website with adsense. Affiliate marketing, selling other peoples products. Joint ventures can be very rewarding once you learn how.

Of course there are many more ways and ideas. This site has some good articles that you may want to read to help.

No I do not know of any but I am seriously looking for one. I am especially interested in Mystery Shopping but have no idea of where to go to become involved and gain employment with one of those firms.

Anyone that has honest information on real jobs that can be done at home in eastern North Carolina:

I just answered the same question from another person. I hope this helps. I know someone who scores student assessment tests (like the CAHSEE) via the Internet. The company she works for is Educational Testing Service. It is a legit company that is hired by state agencies to administer tests. I know they also hire people to rate ESL tests from home. According to the job requirements, they want people with a teaching background, but my friend comes from a business background w/ no teaching experience and they still hired her. Look on their website for online scoring positions.
