I am thinking of moving to the US and would like to find a part that is like Kent in the UK with decidious woodland and gentle rolling hills and a warm summer and not too cold winter. I was told ceneticut is very similar. Any advice ?

Southern Oregon, and there aren't as many liberals as Connecticut which makes it nice.

If you go to Connecticut better buy a snow blower....many feet of snow in the winter...I think the area you are describing would fit Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina....some others but those I have been in.
Not too hot in the summer and only a few weeks of snow in winter. Lots and lots of deciduous trees, lakes, streams and hills.
(You might call them mountains, but spent 20 years in the Rockies, so I call them hills...hehehe)

Anywhere in New England. That is the north east part of the country above New York state.

conneticut is FREEZING in the winter. whoever told you that is lying. it is beautiful in the fall though. i reccomend a middlestate if you want countryside like Kent. Kent is beautiful, and you can find similar styles like that in wyoming, utah, colorado, Michigan, etc. the eastern seabord, especially the north is beautiful, but hot in summer, and ice in winter... so watch out.

southern oregon is nice too, like your first answerer said... a bit rainy... which is like kent i guess. i like oregon!
