It's been a godawful morning. I had a flat tire, on the only day this week I was due in at the office. The tech couldn't do a flat repair, so I had to replace the tire. The guy I worked for chewed me out for being late, even though I called about once every fifteen minutes from the time I got the flat and no one answered the phones.
How do I make this day not suck so much?

Pepsi, guess I didn't make that very clear. My boss should have been at work while I was calling. He wasn't answering his own phones, but it was my fault I couldn't get ahold of him. Grr!

kick everyone in the groin that pissed you off today and go home early with a bottle of kahlua and a gallon of ice cream, 2 liters of coke and make kahlua milkshakes.

1, 2, 3, 4 events does not make a day. Realize this day will end. Realize this is the only shot you have at making this day worth some thing then make it worth something.
There is a principle called Grab 15. Take 15 minutes sometime today to accomplish something you want accomplished. Do that again tomorrow, the next day, etc.
As far as your boss, sometimes they get made when you are suppose to be somewhere but aren't. If you are cool now, leave it at that. Smile, look at how many people responded and said, have a better day in some way or another.

Gee, you only had to be in The Office one day in the week.
Find out who was supposed to be manning the phone. Maybe the phone lines don't open until a certain time in which it seemed like a waste of time to call. But if there was a recording then your boss would be able to listen to it.
Some other time ask the boss, " What can I do if I have to be late because of the car or some other emergency and no one will answer the phone?
Maybe you can have him give you his cell phone number or pager number. Maybe you can call another employees cell phone and have them tell the boss that you will be late. Ask another employee what they would do if this unforeseeable thing happened to them.
This damage is done and can not be undone so you now must move foreword in this day. Get involved in your work and put your thoughts to better things, this day will be over and a new day will dawn.

Just a crazy start of your day - it doesn't mean you can't get back on track.
Take a nice lunch today and do something for yourself - even if it's just sitting outside somewhere quiet and close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature around you. Let go of everything you are thinking about and just merely exist and know I will be thinking about you and hoping your day gets brighter.
Have a great day and smile !!!!!

just take a deep breath and move slowly. If you go too fast you're liable to get frustrated. Do little things you like through out the day like eating your favorite lunch. Sip tea if you are a tea drinker. Hope I've been helpful and good luck on the rest of your day.

Sorry to hear that. That sucks. I would eat something for lunch or dinner you love, but don't get to eat enough. Maybe go for a long run (if that's your thing). A hot shower is always awesome. Then relax because you don't have to go in tomorrow. At least that's my idea of a good day.

I can relate...when my mornings are like that...I get some down time...turn on some music I like...take a deep breathe...straighten up my desk...fix my hair...redo make-up if I'm wearing any...get some coffee...say a gratitude prayer...then turn on the phones...

Do something nice for yourself and get a massage once you are home from work.
Treat yourself to some ice cream.
Call up an old friend or your best friend.

Do your best while in the office - it's all you can ask of yourself. Then go home & have a glass of wine & a hot bath.
