Does anyone think House will have to use his cane again, it just isn't House if he's all healthy, then he just seems like a jerk. Making him crippled was very creative on the part of the writers, they themselves said that if it wasn't for his cane, giving him some reason to hate the world, people would hate him. Maybe I'm just used to him with the cane. What do other House MD fans think?

Well, if I were Hugh Laurie, I wouldn't want the cane either...as an actor, I've had to work with one, and to make it convincing, it's very exhausting and sometimes painful.
Besides, and I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like to see House evolve and change some. Isn't that the point of an ongoing character? To let him soften up a little bit, grow into a better doctor and person? No reason he can't be acerbic and rude, but honestly, who would want to work with a man for any length of time who is THAT mean? How would House react if he got into a relationship? I'll bet dollars to donuts that's where the show is headed, and they needed a reason to make him a little less....angry.
And maybe the lack of the cane makes him seem more like a jerk....GOOD. Maybe the characters around him will stop taking his insults like they do, and create some fireworks. I think it'll be a nice shot in the arm for the show, and get it out of the rut of "cranky House solves the 144th incredibly rare fever/virus/condition of the year". What are the odds that these cases wind up in his hospital, under his care, time and again? They must be astronomical!
I love the show, and I welcome some changes. Change is the ROOT of creativity.

I don't think it's the cane House needs, it's the drugs. He'll be fine without the cane - he wouldn't be jogging if he needed it. I'm highly expecting everyone to be concerned with the drugs he's taking if they do find out.

I think he'll probably end up with it. You're right though - he just doesn't seem like House. As much as I like him running 8 miles to work (I love this show!), I think it'll all eventually come to an end. And what about him and Cameron? Think that relationship will kick back up?
Also creative of the writers - Hugh Laurie is actually British. He does a great job of having no accent though!

Yes, it wasn't the same House without his cane! Last episode, though they hinted that the surgery didn't work OR maybe he is still addicted to the pain pills. Can't wait to find out!

Yes. He's already back onto the Vicodin, so the cane is surely just around the corner as he gets back into his old ways.

I agree. Without the cane he's just a crotchety belligerant doctor like some I know. Maybe he can injure the other leg.

I kindof miss House crippled. I absolutely love his character and how sarcastic he is.
So yeah I think that House will eventually have to use his cane...at least I hope so.
