The end of pregnancy gets like that...
you just want it over FAST.
you want the baby OUT!
Tell her this is a normal feeling. Then tell her to chill. The baby will come out when it is ready. Trying to get the bun out of the oven before it is done cooking makes for undercooked buns.
She just needs to keep busy and not think about it.

A teaspoon of castor oil will do the trick I took it with my second son and the day I took it and walked for about 30mins I had contractions, but they stopped I was already 1cm dilated, the next day I began passing my mucous plug went to the doctor and I was 4cm dilated and got sent to the hospital @ 11am, I delivered my son that same day at 6pm. So good luck to ur sis-n-law on whatever she decides.

I'm there too. I've tried long walks, sex, raspberry leaf tea, spicy foods, pineapples, and nothing is working.
The only other remedy I've heard of is castor oil. I've heard it can bring on a very fast and intense labor by causing your intestines to spasm thus stimulating the uterus to contract.
I've heard it can make you very sick though with diarrhea and vomiting, so I haven't tried it yet. I've heard it really works though. Good luck. Otherwise she can ask her doctor about stripping her membranes.

I've heard sex and walking are the only things that can help. Have her see a Dr. if she's more than 7 - 14 days past her due date.

You can try castor oil. You can try moving furnature, long brisk walk, doggie style sex, and then a hot bath. If that doesn't work I give up.

Tell her to ask her doctor to induce. They will administer pitocin. That will start her contractions however she must be starting to dialate.
