If a woman is on top, how much does that decrease her chances of conceiving? My hubby and I had sex on the day before I ovulated and I was on top. We aren't really trying but we aren't trying to avoid it either we are both ready but want it to come naturally and we don't want to stress it. I'm just curious how much this decreases the chances of conception.

my wife and I are trying as well, after seeing a specialist the info we got was after ejaculation to prop your butt up on a pillow to keep gravity working in your favor instead of against you. the position at the time is irrelevant. also avoid washing out the area right after sex you may very well be washing you chances down the drain

Because of gravity it's not the "best" position than others. But you can get pregnant in just about any position. However, if he has low sperm count or perhaps you have been trying to conceive for a while...then i'd do everything i could to help make sure gravity is on your side. Other wives tales include keeping your leggs in the air 5-20 minutes after sex...to help with gravity for those sperm trying to make it to home plate before they run out of time. Also...his stuff can also run back out easier when you are on top. But there are millions of sperm in one shot...so it's natural for some to come back out. Make sure you have good cervical fluid to help support those sperm on their travels too.

I was on top when my son was conceived. And we were using the pull out method, so I think your chances are as good as any.

i think u should go with the mission style man on top. and if ur trying to get pregnant u should put the pillow under ur booty after. have fun don't stress ok.. take it easy......
