Is it just white shoes that you aren't supposed to wear or white jeans too???

Okay.. maybe they aren't white jeans.. maybe just white pants. They are super cute though and I swear they are in fashion. I bought them at Maurices! They only sell in fashion clothes. :( Can I wear them today? Don't want people talking about me.

I think the fashion industry has changed that rule, Honey, so go ahead and wear your cute pants. And if people talk about you, who chares?! You look FIERCE!

according to Jack from "will and grace" you should never wear white after labour day.. 's' and white jeans hey are we in the 80's.. I hate them ..and would avoid them like the plague xxx

I think the rule is old and there is a new thing called "winter white" that a lot of the stores have been showing. So as long as the fabric is season-appropriate, I say go ahead!

Not until the next Memorial Day... Labor Day is when you stop wearing white.

This rule isn't followed much any more.

Aloha

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. You're not supposed to wear white socks. Definitely not white socks. Or stockings, hosiery, tank tops, etc. Big white hats are not okay either. Nor watches.

No, you're not supposed to wear white. As per some archaic southern American rules! Why don't you just wear what you want to? Or copy straight off a friend who knows what to wear when it's cool outside.

In the first place if people talk about you, ignore them, individuality is the best thing, being a follower, is common and dumb, with all due respect. But if you just want to look cool, wear them! But if you want to follow the norm, wait until may 1, 2007. Up to you...

This is so outdated. If your up to date with fashion and confident abotu yourself you can wear white whenever you want.

There is a generation of people that go by that rule but it's so out of date.

You can wear white between Memorial Day and Labor Day so sayeth Emily Post, Abigail VanBuren and many others.

Why?

Who knows. I wear white when I feel it is appropriate. It's not illegal.
