try using the clearblue ovulation kit. they tell you within 2 days of your ovulation. that is how i finally after 1 year of trying got pregnant. all you do is urinate on the stick and itll tell you if youre going to ovulate within the next 2 days, if you already have ovulated, or if youre too far away to get pregnant yet. i tested every 2 days, then finally ovulated and never left the bedroom for a day or 2. then finally, my miracle happened. i hope the same happens for you. good luck.

Mid cycle is best, tech stuff and link below
The length of the follicular phase — and consequently the length of the menstrual cycle — may vary widely. The luteal phase, however, almost always takes the same number of days. Some women have a luteal phase of 10 days, others of 16 days (the average is 14 days), but for each individual woman, this length will remain constant. Sperm survive inside a woman for 3 days on average, with survival time up to five days considered normal. A pregnancy resulting from sperm life of eight days has been documented.[6][7][8] The most fertile period (the time with the highest likelihood of sexual intercourse leading to pregnancy) covers the time from some 5 days before ovulation until 1-2 days after ovulation. In an average 28 day cycle with a 14-day luteal phase, this corresponds to the second and the beginning of the third week of the cycle. Fertility awareness methods of birth control attempt to determine the precise time of ovulation in order to find the relatively fertile and the relatively infertile days in the cycle.
People who have heard about the menstrual cycle and ovulation may commonly and mistakenly assume, for contraceptive purposes, that menstrual cycles always take a regular 28 days, and that ovulation always occurs 14 days after beginning of the menses. This assumption may lead to unintended pregnancies. Note too that not every bleeding event counts as a menstruation, and this can mislead people in their calculation of the fertile window.
If a woman wants to conceive, the most fertile time occurs between 19 and 10 days prior to the expected menses. Many women use ovulation detection kits that detect the presence of the LH surge in the urine to indicate the most fertile time. Other ovulation detection systems rely on observation of one or more of the three primary fertility signs (basal body temperature, cervical fluid, and cervical position).
Among women living closely together, the onsets of menstruation may tend to synchronise somewhat. This McClintock effect was first described in 1971, and possibly explained by the action of pheromones in 1998.[9] However, subsequent research has called this conclusion into question.

I would be reluctant to use Chinese herbal treatments. You don't really know what's in them. Sometimes it just can be a miss-match of partners. That is to say that you might be wonderfully fertile, but you and your partner do not match well fertility-wise. I'm not even implying that your partner is infertile. I'll give you an example...a married couple, together for 8 years, never conceived. They separated and both started seeing new partners...the female fell pregnant within 6 months and the male got his girlfriend pregnant about 6 months after that. It wasn't that either of them were infertile, it's just that they were infertile together. Also I've heard that the more anxious you are to get pregnant, the more it can hinder conception. I don't know much about certain foods, etc, but I am sure some web research would show up something.
Good luck :-)

You haven't said how long you have been trying. I would stay away from the herbs. If you have been trying for more than a year consult your GP. You can then have some simple tests and then you will know if there is something wrong or you are just unlucky not to have fallen pregnant yet.

Have you tracked your fertility? 14 days before your cycle is due is when you ovulate - this is the time to be having intercourse.
Patience is very important, these things will come with time. In the meantime, eat like you are pregnant, and start taking a prenatal vitamin (some vitamins even have a 'trying to conceive' multivitamin). That way you know you will be in tip top condition for your baby when s/he decides to make his/her appearance.

Have regular sex and try to eat well.
Try to minimise drinking and smoking.
Get your partner to wear loose cotton boxers (if he doesn't already!)
Buy a pack of good pre-natal vitamins (the sanatogen ones are pretty good), you really should be getting a good mix of vitamins, calcium and folic acid if you're trying to conceive.
Most of all relax, it will happen the minute you stop fretting about it !

If you have been tring for more then 6 mths then I think you would need to see the doctor.
