My vehicle was salvaged by the insurance company, they paid the value of the car and they allowed me to keep the vehicle.

Call your local wrecking yards and see if they are interested. Otherwise put an add in the paper to sell it for parts.

Unless the vehicle has some desirable parts which could be salvaged it is very unlikely that you will make a profit. It also depends on the desirability of your car.

If the vehicle was written off simply because the repair cost to the insurance company was too high in relation the vehicle value, it MAY be possible to sell it as a repairable project. However, this would depend on the category of total loss. Cat A and B cannot be repaired. Cat C and D MAY be repairable. Check out the VOSA website for this info.

The other factor which is now affecting your situation is the new rules concerning scrap yards and vehicle dismantlers. The result of this is that it is frequently impossible to have your car taken away by a scrap dealer, unless you pay him a substantial fee.

There is also a new rule which requires manufacturers to assume responsiblity for the disposal of old models made by themselves - but I am not sure how this may affect your situation.

I hope this helps....

You can remove any good parts, and sell them on EBay

You can list the car as a parts car, and sell the whole vehicle on ebay or craigslist!

You can call your local salvage yard and see what they would give you for scrap value.

the best way is to sell parts that will get you the most money or just scrap out for metal not worth much
