Hopefully the mother takes it upon herself to give you any vital information you will need about her children before you sit for the first time. Allergies, food aversions, asthma, etc. Make sure you have emergency contact information as well. If you have no prior experience with children, it might be helpful for you to take a course including first aid etc...they offer them at most hospitals, often free. Good luck...you've got 3 kids at three very energetic ages! :)

How long will you be gone? Can you give me an emergency number where I can reach you? Am I to feed or give any medicines to the children? What time are they expected to go to bed? Do I have to bathe the two year old, or is the six year old able to do that? What is off limits, as in no tv after x' oclock, no computer after x o'clock etc? Is it lights out a certain time or may they read or listen to music? May I have something to eat or drink? May I watch your tv or use your computer to do my homework? Will you see that I get home safely? how much is the pay? If i do a satisfactory job, will you please hire me again. I promise that I will not use your phone and chat so the line will be open if you try to call home. I also promise not to invite anyone else into the house while you are gone. If someone comes to the door, I will either say your busy at the moment and can't come to the door or I will not open the door at all. I will tell no one that I am home alone with your children. Is there anything else that has not been covered that I need to know?

You will need contact numbers for the parents in case of an emergency. Ask if the children have any allergies, what they can have to eat after school, if they are allowed to watch TV or have to do homework, get phone calls, if they have any medical conditions or take any medications. hopefully the mother will know to tell you these things but you will sound more professional if you ask them first. Make a checklist and write all the numbers down for parents, grandparents if they are an emergency contact, schools and doctors. That way you have everything you need.

hMm.. i got 3 kids so ask her for the numbers of where you can contact her if anything happens, what time to feed and bathe the kids, if u have to. And ask her if theres any restrictions you need to know about.
Get a shoebox, put some crayons and coloring books in there for the 2 and 6 years old. My kids arent 10 so i'm not sure what kids like at that age.
good luck!

What time is bed time? What is their routine? Do they have a drink before bed, or a story? Are they allowed to watch television? Are they allowed to eat sweets? Do they have any allergies?
Make sure she leaves an emergency contact number like her mobile.
Looking after kids can be hard. I wish you luck. Keep calm and I'm sure all will go well. Make sure they realise that you are the grown up and they must do as you say.
