Would you do it, just to see what it was like? Do you think your views would be the same about black people or do you think they would remain the same? I'm not trying to be racist I'm just wondering. Has it ever crossed your mind?

Truly this is not a racist question. Everyone is not the SAME. We are different. Nobody is better or worse, but we're still different. Skin color is not our only differences and people do need to understand that.

No I wasn't, but I thought it was just interestiing. I mean whoopie goldberg did a show once a long time ago where she talked about how little black girls put a shirt on their head and pretended they had long blonde hair and blue eyes. Which I know I've tried, LOL and a lot of others I know. I just wondered if people had interest in this who were white. Plus there was a show, I forget the name, but they did an experiement with two different families and used makeup to change their appearance. It opened their eyes to a lot of things they never knew about. It just seems very interesting to me.

It's obvious you have a problem with anyone who mentions race because you are insecure in your own feelings toward yourself. Nothing here is being said in a racist way and there are some things people just want to know about another persons race. Everytime a person ask a question in regards to race it doesn't make them hateful or racist. People NEED to learn about other people or different creeds, colors, and nationalities and the only way to know is to ask. NOTHING RACIST ABOUT THAT!!! My screenname is far from being a racist name, LOL. You don't even know what it means. Motherland could actually be in reference to any place of origin. I know my friend brad family originates from russia and the motherland is often used to describe his homeland. Read a book and get a clue, because some of us are in this world to educate ourselves and others. No matter what people say race is not just skin color and people would like to learn about differences. Education is not bad.

Wow, what an interesting question. I have read John Howard Griffin's book "Black Like Me" once, although it was years ago, and that was interesting, but I never thought of being brave enough to try it myself, even for a day. While studying psychology I also had a black teacher once who showed us a study that seemed to prove white interviewers were prejudiced against black people because they made eye contact with black subjects much less often than with whites or any other race. I offered the suggestion that perhaps it is because whites still need to work on becoming more familiar with blacks and making friends with them, and it wasn't because of prejudice, just lack of experience. I will admit I have made a bigger effort to make eye contact with black people ever since that psychology class over a decade ago because I do live in a state where blacks are the minority. I think it would be an interesting experience, but even years later I don't think I am brave enough to try it out. Were you going to do it for an assignment of some kind?

Great question!!!!!

Being a sista I have to answer this from the other side of it. If I could be white for a day YES I would do it....I have to agree with Venus_M, walk a day in someone else's shoes to see how their lives really are...

Anyone who calls you a racist doesn't understand the question...

***People she is asking if you could be another race for a day would you do it just to see what life is like...NOT WOULD YOU CHANGE RACES FOR GOOD OR THAT BEING BLACK IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER RACE!!!!!!!***

Good grief people get a clue not everyone thinks they are better than anyone else around here. Some of us are just curious as to what you think, what you would do, or who you would be and are you open to new ideas & thoughts...

Sorry didn't mean to get on a soap box answering your question but folks need to get a clue and stop with all the finger pointing.

Can I answer this?? You specifically said Caucasians.....

I've thought about your question.....I am happy with the skin I'm in! Would I switch places with a white woman, any white woman for just one day? No not because I'm racist, or think I'm better than any other race but God made me who and what I am, and HE does not make mistakes! I would be a horrible Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, or Arabic woman because God has equipped me with the qualities needed to be a BLACK WOMAN! With these qualities I could not truly appreciate the wonders of another race

No way, I see everyday the attitudes of the ignorant within this society. I would have to deal with other peoples issues of self hatred being projected upon me because of who God choose to make me. My views would remain the same, because I don't have racist attitudes and biases. I accept and embrace the difference in everyone i encounter. I love the diversity in this world. It is going to be interesting the responses you receive. Hopefully, you will inspire some to be more aware of their attitudes and biases and make a change. God bless you for asking the question.

Life is too complicated to harbor ill feelings. With that being said, I will apologize to you for calling you a racist. However, my views on things like this are still the same.

Sure, why not. I was always taught that skin color is only, well...skin deep. Its who you are on the inside that makes us who we are. I do not really have any good or bad opinions based on peoples race. I take everything on an individual basis. My views would only change if I was treated differently by other black people if I was black. That would bother me.

I'm not racist and there are plenty of black people I admire, not because they're black, just because I admire them as individuals. If I could be black for a day, I'd be Will Smith, because he's everything I'm not, young, handsome, brilliantly funny and a gifted actor.

I would go to FREAKNIK!!! I'd go audition to be on a Medea play!!! That's what I'd do.

In reality, there are place a white person would like to go but feels uncomfortable going because they arent black and vice versa.
