It depends how you are saying it that could be misintrepeted as stupid. Here in Canada we call them Timbits from Tim Hortons so they don't go to waste or anything. And the doughnut has a whole in it afterwards, when you make the hole.

Well, the part cut out is what made the hole. The "hole" has been cut out then. This is kind of a philosophical question when you get down to it.

Are you obsessing? I think it's funny they call them holes. As if a hole could actually be held or eaten. It's just a play on words like lip-stick. It's not actually a stick. A stick is from a tree branch.
