I had excruciatingly painful growing pains in my legs when I was a kid. The doctor said I had the kind of growth spurt that normally happens to a boy, so I can definitely relate. If you get too uncomfortable see a doctor and rule out any other problems. In the meantime, keep Tylenol on hand. You might try the new time release Tylenol they have now for Arthritis pain.

Also, you can try these pain neutralizer wipes http://www.024zone.com/. They are topical so you won't have to put anything into your body. These work great for more than just what they are advertised for. I think you can send away for a free sample.

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. Rapid growth in the legs accompanied by the sort of pain you describe is possibly a syndrome known as Osgood-Schlatter's syndrome. Ibuprofen before you participate in sports activities may help with the pain. The syndrome passes as the growth spurts diminish.

It'll get better. When I was 16 I grew from 5'9 to 6'3 in one summer. My legs hurt all summer long. It was painful. But eventually, it got better.
