This dude that works in my group is a Neocon nut. He rants and rambles, Neocon hate agendas while we are trying to work. Since he is the only one of his kind in our entire group, he has officially taken over the “laughing stock” spot. He tells me that one day I will “grow up” be a Republican and that I will regret the tattoo on my left hip that says “Liberal to the Core” Huh?? Since my boss has allowed us to listen to the radio while working, we all listen to a hip hop station and this dude wants to start listening to some conservative radio show!! Nobody else is interested. While I’m pipetting he keeps ranting his political garbage. Since his bench is next to mine, it is completely annoying. When will the Necons get a clue?

Neoconservative ideology is just a cover story for what really motivates them, so you don't have to learn their ideas because they themselves just use them for sales pitches. They are wimpy little brown-noses who have a sick desire to be dominated by anyone in power. Supporting rich trash won't make them rich, it just makes them trash.

They have vicarious fantasies in giving a mumbling fraternity drunk and draftdodger like Bush the license to be so obviously a worthless loser and yet win anyway--that's the kind of luck they want for themselves. They are like flabby, fat couch potatoes who, when watching football, get the mental image of themselves out there as big, strong athletes tackling evildoers.

When will the Necons get a clue? Never.

A neocon is not an ex-liberal that converted to republican. NeoCon is, literally, new conservative, as opposed to classic conservative (smaller government, less debt. less government power, etc.) Once again, S H I R A Z - S Y R A H shows how misinformed neocons are.

The easiest way to shut a neocon up is to prove him wrong. It's not hard to do. mymadsky, as usual, had some good "talking points". Be informed, know the facts, and don't let him talk down to you, as neocons like to do.

Another thing you can do, even though I can't stand it, is listen to Air America, if you can get it in your area. He'll either run away screaming or ask to be moved away from you. Problem solved...

When will YOU get a clue that just because you work near a nut doesn't mean all conservatives are the same? Many liberals don't use much logic in their thinking but that doesn't mean that I want to convert you or I don't think you don't have a right to believe what you believe and say what you believe. Some people go too far in every situation. When will you stop painting everybody with a broad brush? I don't assume you need converting; why do you assume that I do? Aren't you doing the same thing to neocons that that guy is doing to you? Shouldn't you be bigger than that?

He must have a passion for disappointment. True conversion requires cathartic introspection and the ability to overcome a huge amount of guilt and anxiety. This usually occurs as normal adults mature and brain function maximizes. He should be careful as an improperly performed conversion can lead to complications such as libertarianism.

Laugh at him, not in a happy way but enough so that he know that you think he is nuts, you have to remember when you are dealing with a conservative that you are dealing with a person that is mentally diminished and can not think for himself. That is why he wants to listen to the conservative talk show so that he can get some ideas.

Neocons themselves have converted from the DNC to the GOP. They have "seen the light" for what ever reason and expect all to be enlightened.

Get him off your case by asking him why we went to war in Iraq. If he mentions terrorism or the war on terror or 9/11 you can blast him with the truth. Pretend to be interested but constantly poke holes in his story...this should frustrate him enough to the point he gives up or educates himself on reality.

Aw. after living with neocon in-laws for 20 years I have come to realize that they like to say it's my way or the highway. They don't even know what the hell a highway is because they always end up going LEFT of center anyway. Lets see, free drug programs , Duh , I wonder what tax paid for those. I'd suggest giving your friend a Vegemite sandwich and having him hug a big Ol' tree so he can feel the true meaning of life. And this is one saddle TRAMP that is using the Ol' fiscal conservative terms in a liberal way :)

Politics should not be discussed at work regardless of your political views.

I have a No W sticker on my trunk and I reverse park as to not offend any of my coworkers.

Next time your pipetting during a rant, mock sneeze and spill the chemical on him. Kidding!

Neocons believe their ways are the New Christianity. You need to be saved from your political ways, Muslims are Satanic, Bush is Jesus, ect.

The basic difference between conservatives and liberals is:

Conservatives think liberals are WRONG.

Liberals think conservatives are EVIL.
