I don't use salt for anything really. Not even for cooking. All foods have their own natural salts. Of course I do crave it sometimes and then I will have some. But only at that time.

Sometimes...A real food addict can tell what's seasoned to their liking and what's not without tasting it, it just has a certain look. It's like iced tea, might as well use all the sugar because you know it's not sweet to your liking. It depends to on what restaurant I'm at or the cook, then I know how I have to doctor up my food or if I can just dig in.

I have to taste before I eat.
So many foods nowdays are so loaded with sodium before they even reach you grocery basket that I am often content without any extra. Also, when I was growing up my step father had heart problems, so salt was kind of a no no in our household, so my tastebuds are more used to low sodium to begin with.

No. never in hotels and restaurants because chefs know best. It is unethical to alter the taste of food they prepared.
No, at home when you prepare instant food.

Yes! It needs @ least a tiny pinch to bring out the flavor. Food with out salt is like sex with out foreplay! :-)
