I would say expect to:

pee in a cup

be weighed

have your blood pressure taken

read and sign a few papers about hiv and other tests

talk to your doctor to answer some questions and get answers to some of yours.

Standard pelvic/breast exam

LOTS of blood work - about 5 vials

and the doctor will probably try to hear your baby's heartbeat with the doppler. If it's not heard, they MAY do an ultrasound for you, but typically they don't do one if they hear the heartbeat.

First, congrats!! At your first appt, they will get all our info from you on any past medical issues you may have. They will give you a pap. You will have your blood plessure and weight checked. Alos, they will give you an EDD (expected due date) according to your last period. Also, they may schedule an ultrasound to see exactly how far along you are. They may be able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler, but some wait until about 14 wks before doing that.

Good Luck!
