Costco have some good deals but you really have to be lucky and go on the right day.

Dell support is good once you get past the technicians. I had a flat panel monitor pop and I had to go through this ridiculous procedure with a techincal support person in India, couldn't really understand much of what he was saying but eventually I got an RMA and from that point on it was good service.

There's the usual garbage software pre-installed that you have to clean up but once it's done they're half decent machines for the money.

I found the best deal, by figuring what Dell machine I wanted, then buying the same from Gateway.

I usually dont recommend a Dell to anyone ..the customer support is horrible and the parts in them are usually crap.
Just build one yourself, thats my recommendation.
You get the parts you want and nothing you dont need and you dont have to be a rocket scientist to build one.. all it takes is a little research.
