An indoor cat will generally live longer and have a healthier life style than a cat who is let outside to fend for itself. Meaning, one has a pet cat but it is outside the majority of the time, eats things it kills, doesn't come home at night, and doing so makes it more suceptable to deseases and infections even if it has had its shots. The oldest cat I have ever known was 22. That was well over 10 years ago and I think it lived 3 years after that. It was my cousins cat and it was born a month after she was. You could just tell it was old. It couldn't meow very well and, it moved slow and was almost gray. Very friendly though.

Depends on their breeding. Can be 12-20 years. My mom had a cat when I was younger that lived for 24 years. There are obvious things that can increase or decrease their life span. Outdoor cats have more risks than inside cats, however indoor cats just don't get the amount of exercise that outdoor cats get. I have both of them and I think that my outdoor cats, though costing me more medically, are in better shape and their muscles are firmer. My indoor cats sleep all day and are up all night making tons of noise....
Good luck!

The oldest cat I know of lived until he was 22. He was an indoor cat.
Indoor cats have a longer life expectancy than outdoor cats.

Cats are said to have nine lives but practically it is not so!Cats live from a range of 8 to 12 years depending on the biological conditions and its environment.

They live about 15 years or more, my cousin's cat is 20 and still going, but some last less, just depends on how risky they are in their endeavours, and how active they are, I"m assuming the fatter they are the more health problems there are - like humans - and probably the sooner they die.
