Ok I know you aren't that stupid. Doughnut holes are the dough from from the center of a doughnut that make the hole. Not all doughnuts have holes.

the dough in cut out of the biscuit hence making the "hole" before frying. Instead of wasting it they sell the holes also

no, i imagine his donuts were 1/2-baked, the middle of nuts fell out of the dough and he stated b*gger it, i don't have time to make yet another batch before establishing. they're going to like em or dunk'em.
