Definitely the Kite Runner. It was one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Plagues and Peoples by William McNeil completely changed the way I thought about history. The best fiction book I read was year was Connie Willis' The Doomsday Book.

The best book I read this year was A Fine Balance. It shows that you can make the most of everything, no matter how much (or how little) you have. It was just so beautiful and got the water works going!

I just finished 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde. A fantastic book. I wish I could express how delightful and funny Wilde's writing is and the story is very engaging. No wonder why it's a classic.

It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

Mr.Vizzini communicates the story of a depressed troubled youth who finds himself in the adult psychiatric ward at his local hospital. This is a truly amazing book and is definitely worth checking out. It may be shelved in YA.
