it could be gas but check with your doctor. every now and then after a bowel movement I'll get pains like that in the upper part of my stomach as well as the lower part of my back but once i take a gas-x or drink a warm soda like a coca cola or RC and began to burp or pass gas my stomach feels much better and the pain leaves.
