I have a problem with getting nervous and jittery when I talk to people. Not just strangers...but sometimes it's with my close friends. I think that it might be because they are very pretty and it makes it harder for me to talk to them. Is there something legal I can take that will calm my nerves ?

The best thing you can take to help you cure this problem is a lesson in ‘self-appreciation’ !!!

You need to boost your self-esteem… Feel good about yourself… Be the best that you can be, and accept that you are who you are !

The nerves and jitters are the result of the ‘lack of confidence’ that you feel in yourself.
Believe in yourself, so that others too, may believe in you.
Be the best that you can be…
If that isn’t good enough for others… Too bad for them !!!

I think that the answer is not drugs. Perhaps you need to improve yoour own self-image.....feel better about you. One way of doing this is positive affirmation. When you find yourself in these situations, try telling yoursel "I really like me and so do these people I am talking to. I believe I am smart, funny, and good-looking and so do they".....or something along those lines. There are many books available on the subject.

yes there is. it is called confidence. Obviously your good enough to hang out with them so why get nervous? chew on some bubble gum to if it helps. You jsut need to stop worring about the no answers and focus on the yes. you miss 100% of the shots your don't take. Girls like a confident guy. it has and always will be like that

Yes there are probably is kind of medication but I think you that you could make it better by giving yourself a little makeover and feel more confident about yourself. You could even ask your friends to help. Maybe even talking to one of your friends about your problem would help, if they are your true friends then they will know what will help you.

Take three deep breaths and think about what you want to say. Try to say things in a loud clear voice with authority and conviction. If you don't know something, that is no problem ... just say; I don't know, and ask them what they think. Put some expression on you face and in your voice.

Maybe practice speaking in front of a mirror. That should help. People that give speeches do this to see what their fault is. Good Luck

Just take deep breaths and be confident in yourself. Don't compare yourself to others.....concentrate on your strengths and believe that you are just as good as anybody else. You don't need anything other than your own brain and wits to get yourself through this. You can do it! Believe it! Good luck!

Alcohol...brings out the person you wish you could be. Trust me, I am like you...alcohol makes me feel more confident, but of course you should drink enough to feel happy/tipsy and not get wasted. Know your limits, and the alcohol will help...just expect that you will still be the same nervous person once sober....

i wouldnt resort to taking meds. do your friends make you feel so bad about yourself that you cant talkl to them? i mean, do they talk down to you because they are so pretty and make you feel like you are not on their level? I would recheck my relationships before i took meds. But if they are great friends and they arent the ones making you feel this way then consult your dr. there are all kinds of meds out there for everything! good luck!
