Batman Begins is the best superhero movie in my opinion of all time. Second would be Spiderman 2. The Superman Returns movie was good but there was an extra 10 minutes toward the end that reminded me of Lord of the Rings Return of the King. I kept thinking, cut this movie down, its time to wrap it up. I never thought that during Batman. That movie was just sweet from beginning to end.

Batman Begins, although Superman has the better ride.

Both were great films that were made for different reasons.
Batman was made to reinvent the franchise, whereas Superman was made to jump start the franchise again.
Both succeeded in what they meant to do. Batman was a great film but somewhat failed to capture the feel of a true comic book movie but felt more like a true action/drama. Superman was the opposite, it failed to bring in new audiences because it lacked the action/drama but truly exceeded on the comic book level feel.
Personally, I found Superman to be the better film because it felt like a true next installment from the earlier franchise. It was both solid and it did what it needed to do. Batman to me was great, but it didn't excite me the way movies of that nature are supposed to do. That's just my opinion anyway...

Batman.

C. Bale is a great actor. Check out his other stuff too. Superman, on the other hand, was not all that....I was disappointed with the movie, felt B. Routh had difficulty pulling off the "geek" of Clark Kent, and Bosworth - although I think she is cute as hell and I would love to get 1 hr in a dark room with her....I just didnt like her role either. Special Effects were cool - but nothing mind blowing like in The Matrix Trilogies.......cant beleive that was the most expensive movie ever made....

Just saw Crank this weekend - dont waste your money - rent it....

Batman begins without question,a much better interpretation than ever put to film before, more raw and true to the original character, and yet still just a little too good. Batman was meant to have a MUCH darker edge to him than has ever been done before and this one almost maded it. Plus I absolutely loved the scarecrow,he could not have been done better, utter madman it was awesome.
