So, Bush's 9/11 commemoration speech was supposedly political. I didn't watch it (on purpose). But I knew that it either would be or someone would say it was. Whether you like Bush or not, I doubt it's even possible for the speech to have been non political. Even if it was objectively non political, it would still be political to a lot of people.

I don't know who's correct, I just know this reaction is as the title of my question says.

I should add, incase I wasn't clear, I didn't watch, nor have I read, the speech. My reasons are my own.

It has absolutely no political aspects that I can detect, though my perception might be biased.

It is a pretty straightforward listing of what happened on 9/11, what subsequent actions were taken and why they were taken, and what the future looks like.

For the partisan anti-Bush hacks to say it is political or untrue is to show their unhinged loose brains.

The only reason the Demorats are calling political (I did watch it) is because he re-afirmed that we cannot just pull-out of Iraq. Something the Demorats are pushing in their vain effort to regain congressional seat.

It would have been possible and entirely appropriate to take the day as one of reflection and rememberance, with no mention of the war on terror or the same rhetoric he's been spewing since, "now watch this drive."
