I'm a Pisces so I tend to have a good number of Scorpio people in my life. I think they are so different because of the gender issues that are going on in this particular sign. Scorpio is really a feminine sign, but it is co-ruled by Mars, which is seething with masculine energy. Female Scorpios do just fine with the feminine energy of the sign because they are female. They can basically wear that femininity on their sleeve and no one questions it. In fact, it is typically encouraged, appreciated, and treasured. They also have the Mars influence though, and I've noticed that influence stays bottled up in most Scorpio women until it is either socially appropriate to release a bit of it or until they are with their comfortable people like family and/or a lover. As a Pisces guy I get to see this switch in Scorpio women that let me in close. They're all femme until the doors and windows are shut. Guys have a different story though. They tap into the Mars influence more and more because all Scorpios demand respect and being masculine engenders respect best for a Scorpio guy. So, they figure that out really quickly and play that role for most people. Putting on that show attracts them to different types of people than a Scorpio girl would draw to her, which means there are different people influencing both Scorpio males and Scorpio females. I think that the gap between the two genders just widens and widens from there. I also think that Scorpio guys probably have to have some secret outlet for their feminine side.
